Hello
I'm the one behind all these shenanigans
Like many of you, I'm a fountain pen enthusiast and collector.

Like many of you, I'm a fountain pen enthusiast and collector. I've loved pens for most of my life and have used them regularly for the last 10–12 years. I got truly serious about the hobby about four years ago after attending the DC Pen Show. Over budget much? Yeah… of course.
I got into nib tuning around that same time. I spent countless hours watching youtube videos (penhabit was a great place to start) and talking with nibmeisters. I received encouragement from Mike Masuyama, Kirk Speer, and Hugh Scher of Kanilea Pen Co.
I have an analytical mind, and I approach tuning from a scientific perspective. My recommendations are based on methods I have carefully considered and tested on my own pens.
My collection currently sits at around 400 pens, and I have tuned nearly every one of them. Yes, including the Namikis, the Montegrappas, and the David Oscarsons.
I believe tuning is something every fountain pen enthusiast should understand. When done with the proper tools, supplies, and techniques, it's quite safe. It's easy enough to be accessible to everyone.
These days I teach tuning courses at a number of pen shows. Some require that I have a place to register participants, which was the initial impetus for creating this site. I naturally wanted the students in my classes to be successful, and have access to the same tools I use; every class includes a tuning kit. It occurred to me that other folks who can't make it to the class might also want a crack at this kit, so here it is, along with the rest of the supplies. It comes with careful instructions, and there is a video in the making.
Finally, as any collector knows, sometimes you have to thin the collection a bit to make room for the next obsession. I'm not trying to become a pen store, I'm just making a little room.
That's the site in a nutshell. Later, I'll have a few blog articles to post, about some topics I am passionate about.
Enjoy!
